The Perfect Plant in your hand

I’ve written about the Perfect Plant concept before, after digging into it at last year’s SAP Adaptive Manufacturing Summit. If you work in a production organization, then it’s a concept that’s worth investigating, but up to now, if you wanted to learn more, you’ve really had little alternative but to pore through a lot of SAP presentations and brochures to find useful nuggets of information. What’s been missing is something like a primer, or other consolidation of information about the approach, that you could hold in one hand. That’s about to change.

The concept continues to evolve and mature, and there’s a book being published about it on May 1st this year. “In Pursuit of the Perfect Plant” will be useful for both senior management and those involved in everyday operations in production organizations: the authors—Patrick Kennedy of OSIsoft, Vivek Bapat of SAP, and Paul Kurchina—interviewed more than 100 industry experts (including some of us at Actenum) on a wide range of topics, and have laid out an interesting and relevant story which contains a great deal of valuable insight.

You can read more about the book, and order a copy, from the publisher’s website.
