YPF selects Actenum RAS software for optimized workover scheduling

Vancouver BC, 26-Jul-10

Actenum Corporation announces today that YPF S.A.—a subsidiary of Repsol YPF S.A—has acquired a second Actenum Rig Activity Scheduler (RAS) software license for scheduling all pulling rigs and workover activities, extending the existing Actenum RAS drilling implementation..

The second license builds on YPF's success in using Actenum RAS to manage drilling scheduling, starting in 2008. For workover scheduling, E&P Operations will use Actenum RAS to automatically create schedules for over 200 activities per year, based on important technical and business constraints, such as well integrity, equipment availability, cost, and production output.

At the same time, YPF users will be better able to deal with operational changes and schedule disruptions by utilizing the software’s decision-support features to create and evaluate multiple scenarios before selecting the most appropriate course of action.

Deployment is expected to be completed in Q3 2010.

“YPF's decision to use Actenum RAS for scheduling workovers is based on their positive experience with RAS in drilling operations,” said Actenum's CEO, Paul Maurer. “We look forward to working with them in the coming months as they use our software to manage this challenging and critical area of their production operations.”
