Actenum releases DSO/Upstream 4.0: advanced software for Upstream planning and scheduling
Vancouver, BC, 01-Jun-11
Actenum Corporation today announced the production release of DSO/Upstream 4.0, the latest version of its advanced software for rapid and reliable planning and scheduling of upstream operations.
DSO/Upstream saves exploration and production organizations time and effort by automatically assigning resources to upstream activities—such as drilling, completions, workovers, and fracturing—and sequencing these activities in a way that meets or exceeds organizational objectives. At the same time, DSO/Upstream ensures that all operational and business constraints are satisfied.
The 4.0 release couples a powerful and flexible Gantt-based user interface—developed over the past eighteen months—with Actenum's proven optimization technology, and provides new capabilities that include:
- Integrated scenario generation and analysis;
- Multi-objective optimization of any plan or schedule;
- A goal-seeking feature that adjusts results to meet specific requirements;
- Event handling to enable definition and management of all stages of the well lifecycle;
- User configurable optimization and reporting;
- Extensive import/export facilities, and external database support.
“The 4.0 release of DSO/Upstream is a complete solution for scheduling onshore and offshore operations, and is the result of several years of development based on extensive customer feedback,” said Junas Adhikary, Actenum's VP of Product Development. “E&P operators can now eliminate error-prone manual data entry and un-auditable collections of spreadsheets and project files by managing equipment and well activity information in DSO/Upstream's central database.”
Paul Maurer, Actenum's CEO, said, “Customers using pre-production versions of DSO/Upstream 4.0 have been very enthusiastic about its features, particularly the new, configurable user interface, and we look forward to general adoption in the coming months.”
