Actenum Corporation extends capabilities with Microsoft Project 2010 integration
Vancouver BC, 25-Feb-10
Actenum Corporation today announced the integration of Actenum DSO, its Decision Support and Optimization solution, with the latest release of Microsoft's project management application, Microsoft Project 2010.
Actenum DSO enables users to rapidly find the best way of allocating resources to activities, by replacing manual effort with automatic optimization. At the same time, users can balance multiple objectives, and ensure that all operational and business constraints are satisfied.
The two-way integration capability announced today enables Microsoft Project 2010 users to:
- Export plans and schedules to Actenum DSO,
- Use DSO's optimizer to update resource and activity assignments rapidly, in response to operational changes or organizational target revisions,
- Apply DSO's ‘look ahead’ decision support feature to perform sophisticated ‘what if?’ analyses, and
- Import the resulting plan and schedule updates back to Microsoft Project 2010.
All Microsoft Project data is preserved throughout the integration process, which also supports prior releases of Microsoft Project.
“Our new integration capability seamlessly adds the analytic and optimizing power of Actenum DSO to the new features of Microsoft Project 2010,” said Paul Maurer, Actenum's Chief Executive Officer. “For users who develop and administer large-scale plans and schedules in a production environment, this not only offers significant productivity benefits, but also improvements in cost management and production throughput.”
