Position Description

We are looking for a senior software engineer to join our product development team. You will be expected to work from concept and design all the way to delivery of a solution. You must be a productive programmer with high attention to detail and quality, and passionate about writing high-quality code in an agile software development environment. In conjunction with code, you will also write appropriate specifications, test plans, and unit tests.

You will frequently be in customer-facing situations that will require international travel. You will be expected to understand and communicate customer needs, clarify and prioritize requirements, develop and communicate a vision and value proposition, and deliver solutions that maximize customer satisfaction and ROI. You will be expected to deliver solutions that balance the specific needs of customers with the strategic goal of producing and maintaining general products and services.

To be successful in this position, you will need to fit into an early-stage company environment, and be able to take on challenges that are not found in more structured organizations. You'll need to be a proactive and independent thinker, open to other people's views, and open to changing your ways. You must be able to take ownership of tasks with little supervision.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science (M.Sc. or higher preferred);
• At least five years of design and coding skills in Java/J2EE or MS .Net;
• Knowledge of formal and agile software development processes;
• At least three years of practical experience with optimization, scheduling, and planning software and algorithms;
• Ability transform research results into deployable software products;
• Capacity to mentor and engage junior team members;
• Good communicator and team player;
• Willing to travel frequently internationally (Middle East, South America, Asia);
• Knowledge of the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries, and/or Management & Operations is desirable.
